Mac compatibility
Elden Ring - the single-player part runs on Mac with Apple Silicon through Hrava (engine vkd3d), but while single-player runs great, online mode is blocked by EAC. This is a macOS limitation, not a Hrava one: kernel-level anti-cheat does not work on Mac in any solution.
| Platform | Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 and newer), macOS 14+ |
| How it runs | Native - DirectX is translated to Apple Metal (no cloud, no Windows) |
| Recommended engine | vkd3d - DirectX 12 through Vulkan (MoltenVK), handles modern DX12 titles well. |
| Setup | Bundled |
| Anti-cheat | Kernel-level anti-cheat in multiplayer - protected multiplayer will not launch on Mac |
Buy Hrava ($39) and download the app - one small .app, no Terminal, no drivers.
Sign in to Steam inside Hrava and install Elden Ring through the built-in SteamCMD.
Hrava picks the engine (vkd3d) and launches the game natively on your GPU. Optionally, export it as a standalone launcher.
Honest about the limits
Single-player runs great, but online mode is blocked by EAC. Kernel-level anti-cheat - EAC, Vanguard, BattlEye, nProtect - does not work on macOS in any solution (not Hrava, not CrossOver, not virtual machines): it is a limitation of the platform itself. If all you need is the protected online mode of Elden Ring - it will not launch on Mac. Single-player and unprotected modes work fine.
Native, no cloud. $39 - 14-day money-back guarantee.
