Windows games from a MacBook on Pico 4
Yes. Pico 4 has its own browser, and that is all it takes: Hrava runs the game on your Mac and streams the picture to the headset over Wi-Fi. Nothing needs to be installed on Pico 4.
Does this work on Pico 4?
Pico 4 has pancake lenses and a rear battery that balances the weight, so long sessions stay comfortable. Its Chromium browser supports WebCodecs. On a crowded 5 GHz band, switching to 1080p30 makes the stream noticeably steadier.
Display: 2160x2160 per eye, 105° horizontal FoV · Browser: Pico Browser (Chromium)
How to connect
Turn on streaming in Hrava
Open the VR panel in Hrava - it shows an address and a QR code.
Open the address in your headset
Scan the QR in the headset browser, or type the address.
Enter the PIN
Once per headset. Then start a game on the Mac - streaming begins on its own.
What it does NOT do
- This is not a stereoscopic VR mode: the game stays flat, with no 3D depth
- No in-game head tracking (6DoF) - the game camera does not follow your head
- Ordinary games do not become VR games
- It needs your home Wi-Fi: this does not work over the internet
What you need
- A Mac on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer)
- A VR headset with a modern browser
- The same Wi-Fi network (5 GHz preferred)
- macOS permissions: Screen Recording and Accessibility
Common questions
Do I need to install anything on Pico 4?
No. All it needs is the browser it already has. Everything happens on the Mac.
Is this real stereoscopic VR?
No. It is a big virtual screen: the game stays flat, like on a monitor. There is no stereoscopy and no in-game head tracking.
How fast does my Wi-Fi need to be?
A normal 5 GHz home network is enough. If the picture stutters, switch Hrava to 720p60 or 1080p30.
Try it on your headset
